Mary Lou Condike

Mary Lou grew up in Massachusetts, attending public schools and graduating from Worcester State University with a BS in Mathematics, and from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with an MBA, concentrating in manufacturing management.
She’s worked in various professions, including computer programming and systems analysis, manufacturing operations, and small business ownership. After ten years writing hundreds of real estate appraisals, Mary Lou sold her company and retired, only to discover retirement required hobbies and projects.
She’d aspired to become a writer since high school, so she set out to write her first book and quickly learned that her meager experience contributing articles to a local weekly newspaper and taking correspondence courses on creative writing did not prepare her for the task. In an effort to learn the craft, she joined Granbury Writers’ Bloc and attended DFWCon in 2016 where her eyes were opened. The information gained and the contacts made led her to enroll in Southern Methodist University’s Writers Path program in Dallas, and, of course, to attend more conferences.
Her short story, “Until Your Better is Best” was published in Boundless, Stories by Authors Destined to Soar, A Vinculinc Anthology, Vinculinc, Inc., 2017. The story is available on the Vinculinc website www.vinculinc.com . Vinculinc has accepted a second story, “Sacrifice,” which is also available on their website.
