Brian Condike

Brian arrived in Texas as soon as he could in 1996, after growing up and attending school in Massachusetts. An avid and lifelong reader, his first interest in writing sparked when minoring in English as he studied chemistry at UMass Amherst.

Brian pursued a 30+year career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, adding the letters ‘MBA’ to his name along the way. His professional duties included testing water, soil, and hazardous waste, managing and inspecting environmental laboratories, and managing multi-million dollar programs cleaning up hazardous waste and unexploded ordinance from former Defense Department properties.

While his job involved extensive technical writing, Brian has attempted writing fiction only in the past few years. His ultimate writing goal is to traditionally publish one or more mystery novels.

Brian has had several personal interests over the years, including home improvement, photography, fishing, bowhunting, woodworking, and community theater.

He is proud of his daughter Meridith, his son Curtis, and his two granddaughters Emily and Ava. Brian looks after his 101-year old father, and enjoys lakeside living at his home in Granbury with his loving wife Mary Lou and their Pembroke Welsh Corgi Lucy Lu.
